“Ventilation systems work best using quality components”

Additional equipment needed for the ventilation system is supply air louvers or intake hoods, air filters, and backdraft dampers. The size, type, and quantity of equipment vary with the ventilation needs of the facility.

Louvers

Bringing in outside air exposes the airstream to weather. Rain louvers are designed to prevent the entrainment of rain and snow and are selected based on the velocity of the supply air. A backdraft damper can be coupled with the louver to close off the airflow when needed.

Air Filters

Air filtration is an option depending on the location of the mining facility and outside air quality. Bringing in outside air always has the potential to bring in dust. Air filters are MERV rated and are selected on the velocity of the supply air and for the type and loading of particulate in the airstream. They are positioned in place by the use of holding frames located behind the intake louvers. When they reach maximum design pressure drop in inches WG, they are removed from inside the enclosure and changed out.   We offer paper filters as well as metal mesh designs for cleanability depending on the georgraphic location and needs of the customer.
